Congratulations on your choice of the FSS-3BB Fish Finder and Fish Species and Biomass
Sounder. We are confident you will see why the FURUNO name has become synonymous with

Your equipment is designed and constructed to meet the rigorous demands of the marine envi-
ronment. However, no machine can perform its intended function unless properly installed and
maintained. Please carefully read and follow the operation and maintenance procedures set forth
in this manual.

Features
The FSS-3BB is a dual frequency color fish finder, comprised of a Trackball Control Unit, Proces-
sor Unit, Transceiver Unit, and Transducer (optional or local supply). The FSS-3BB shows under-
water conditions on a monitor (local supply).

function distinguishes swim bladder and swim bladder-less fish. Requires
IDENTI-FISH
™
compatible transducer.
• Fish-size graph allows estimation of fish distribution at a glance.
• Data recording and screenshot function for easy review of past echoes and recordings.
• Scrollback mode allows the user to review past data.
• Gain changes made at the FSS-3BB are applied to all currently displayed screens (high and low
frequencies echoes only).
• Recorded data can be saved to an external data storage device.
• Constant and stable display of echoes is achievable with the use of the heave offset function
(requires a SATELLITE COMPASS
™
).
• Geographical location of schools of fish can be output to connected navigational equipment.
Interference reduction measures
If a nearby vessel requests you to reduce interference, do the measure shown below to the equip-
ment in the order shown. (1) Broadband fish finder/sonar, (2) Fish finder/sonar using multiple fre-
quencies, (3) Fish finder/sonar using single frequency.
• Reduce TX power. See page 4-10.
