[Freq Control]
Operative when [Auto Chirp] is set to [Off], and adjusts the frequen-
cy and chirp width. This function is useful for adjusting the frequen-
cy in the following conditions.
• Set the frequency according to targeted fish species.
• Shift the frequency to reduce interference.
• Lower the frequency to increase detection range, decrease chirp
width.
• Raise the frequency to raise the resolution (when viewing a
school of fish), widen chirp width.
To adjust the frequency do as follows:
1) Click the (
) icon of [Freq Control] to show the [Freq Control
HF] (or [Freq Control LF]) window. The content of the window
changes with transducer model and TX mode. The example be-
low is the high frequency side of the transducer CM265LHG.
* The chirp width indications and the black dots (see the figure
above) are greyed out when the [TX Mode] is [Normal].
2) Click the arrow buttons (
) of [Freq Control] to adjust the fre-
quency. The software keyboard may also be used to adjust the
frequency.
Note:
The frequency may not be adjustable depending on the
[Chirp Width]. If this happens, reduce the chirp width to enable
frequency adjustment.
3) When the [TX Mode] is [TruEchoCHIRP], click the arrow but-
tons (
) of [Chirp Width] to adjust the chirp width. The soft-
ware keyboard may also be used to adjust the chirp width. If the
chirp width cannot be adjusted, the default chirp width settings
may need to be restored. To restore the default setting, close
the [Freq Control HF] (or [Freq Control LF]) window, navigate to
the [TX/RX: HF] (or [TX/RX: LF]) menu then click the reset but-
ton (
).
4) Click the [OK] button to finish, or the [Cancel] button to revert to
previous settings.
[TX Pulse Edge]
[TX Pulse Edge] is operative when [TX Mode] is set to [Normal].
Turn this feature on to reduce noise generated by echo sounders
or sonars onboard your vessel or another vessel.

Frequency and chirp calculations appear. The
black dot in the center is the current frequency
setting and the black dot at the right and left
are chirp width*. Further, if the set chirp width*
is outside the transducer's acceptable range,
the dots to the right and left appear in red color.
