Replacing Parts
•
All cables connected from other components to the motherboard.
To remove motherboard components from the motherboard
1 Access and open the E-36A (see page 50 ).
2 Remove the printer interface board (see page 57 ).
3 Remove the following cables attached to the motherboard:
•
Fiery QuickTouch USB cable
•
Hard disk drive (HDD) data cable
•
SATA data cable
•
Power supply cable
•
24-pin motherboard power cable
•
4-pin motherboard power cable
•
10-pin power button cable
•
Fan cables (chassis fan and CPU fan)
For the location of each connector on the motherboard, see Figure 27 on page 49.
To remove the motherboard
Note: This procedure assumes that you have already performed the procedure “To remove motherboard components
from the motherboard” on page 61.
1 Remove the six mounting screws that secure the motherboard to the base of the chassis (see Figure 35 on page 60
for the screw locations on your motherboard).
To minimize tension on the motherboard, loosen all the screws partially before removing any one screw
completely.
Follow standard ESD precautions while handling the motherboard and all components. For details,
see “Precautions” on page 12.
Follow standard ESD and other safety “Precautions” on page 12 when handling the motherboard. Do
not touch the contacts and avoid using excessive force. Place the motherboard on a grounded,
antistatic surface.
