Installation and Service Guide: Color Controller E-36A

Installing System Software

The E-36A detects the update file and starts the installation process. Wait until the Fiery QuickTouch software 

installation process completes and the E-36A reaches Idle state. 

While installing the Fiery QuickTouch software, the Fiery Ticker displays “Exited” on the status bar. Once the 

installation is done successfully, Fiery Ticker displays Idle on the status bar. The installation process may take 

approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. 

If the installation process is not complete and the Fiery Ticker continues to display “Exited” on the status bar, 

proceed with the 

step

 to complete the installation process manually.

) and the front panel (see

).

Locate the download button behind the front panel available under the Fiery QuickTouch (see 

Figure 47

).

Remove the screw attached to the download button.

Set aside the screw so that you can re-attach it later.

Push the download up towards the Fiery QuickTouch.

While pushing the download button, press the reset button on the right side next to the USB ports. 

The Fiery QuickTouch system enters into the download mode.

Access the “C:\Glance\image\NX-

<version_number>

-system_update” folder, and double-click the “

flash.bat

” file.

Wait until the Fiery QuickTouch completes the installation and displays the Home screen. The installation may 

take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Once the installation is complete and Fiery QuickTouch displays the Home screen, secure the download button 

with the screw you removed at 

step
