Installation and Service Guide: Color Controller E-36A

Installing System Software

•

Any Windows computer with:

•

Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10

•

USB 3.0 port: USB3.0 is recommended for faster installation, if not available, USB2.0 port also works.

•

Minimum 500MB of available hard disk space

•

Internet connection enabled: To download the system software files, you need an Internet access.

Install the Fiery Installer Builder on this Windows computer.

•

Account information: Account information is needed to log in to the Fiery Installer Builder.

Use your account information for the EFI Sales Portal to log in to the Fiery Installer Builder. You can also log in to

the Fiery Installer Builder using the E-36A IP address and Administrator’s account.

Note:

If you log in using the E-36A Administrator’s account, you can download and install the same version of the

system software that is installed on the E-36A. If you log in using your EFI Sales Portal account information, you

can download and install the newer version of the E-36A system software.

•

One of the following:

•

USB flash drive

: Use the USB flash drive to install the system software to an existing HDD on the E-36A.

Note:

Due to Windows file system restriction, the maximum size of the USB flash drive you can use is 32GB.

The minimum size required is 16GB.

•

SATA HDD

: SATA HDD is necessary only when you are replacing the HDD on the E-36A.

If you are replacing the HDD on the E-36A, you need a SATA to USB adapter. Using this adapter, you can

connect the SATA HDD to a USB 3.0 port on the Windows computer having the Fiery Installer Builder and

prepare the SATA HDD for installation on the E-36A. The SATA HDD will be formatted and the system

software will be copied to a recovery folder on the SATA HDD.

Note:

SATA to USB adapter is shipped inside the optional Service Kit for E-36A.
