Voltage indication and phase
comparison, 630 A and 1250 A panels
Voltage indicator
A load-break switch, circuit breaker and busbar section
panel normally have a voltage indicator. As an option, a
voltage indicator can also be fitted on a load-break
switch/fuse.
For the operation and specifications of a voltage indicator
used in a standard way, see appendix 9.2.

Definitions
Operating
condition =
disconnector in the busbar position and
load-break switch or circuit-breaker
turned on.
Earthing
position =
disconnector in the earthing position
and load-break switch or circuit-
breaker turned on.
Intermediate
position =
disconnector in the earthing position
and load-break switch or circuit-
breaker turned off.
On the control panel of a load-break switch panel, circuit-
breaker panel and bus-section panel is an interlock strip,
which can be pulled out. A padlock can be attached to this.
The interlock works in the following way:
Load-break switch
Fitting a padlock prevents the closed switch from being
opened in the operating position and in the earthing
position.
Circuit-breaker
Fitting a padlock prevents the closed circuit-breaker from
being opened in the earthing position. Opening CANNOT
be prevented in the operating position.
Locking in intermediate position by means of a
scissor-type interlock (630 A panels)
As an option, a scissor-type interlock with padlock can be
supplied (figure 1). This scissor-type interlock can be used
to lock the load-break switch or circuit-breaker in an
intermediate position, for example the disconnector in the
earthing position and the load-break switch or circuit-
breaker in the OFF position.
Bus-section panel with load-break switch (630 A
panels)
On a bus-section panel, the load-break switch CANNOT be
closed if the disconnector is in the earthing position. Fitting
a padlock only locks the closed switch from being opened
in the operating position.
Bus-section panel with circuit-breaker and load-break
switch/fuse panel (630 A panels)
These panels CANNOT be locked with a padlock interlock.
N
OTE
If an electrical tripping coil is present, this can
also be locked to prevent switching off
electrically.
Bus-section panel (1250 A panels)
The right panel with circuit-breaker does not have an
interlock strip. If the selector is to the left, the disconnectors
in both the right and left panels cannot be operated.
As an option, a scissor-type interlock with padlock can be
supplied (figure 1). This scissor-type interlock can be used
to lock the selector of the circuit-breaker in the right panel.
In this position, both disconnectors and the switch cannot
be operated locally.
