DRIVE CLUTCH INSTALLATION
1. Place the drive clutch assembly on the crankshaft taper. Position the mounting washer (with the green
side facing out) on the bolt (17) and start the bolt into the crankshaft
(Figure 17-7, Page 17-6)

NOTE:
The drive clutch mounting bolt has left-hand threads.
2. Tighten the drive clutch retaining bolt (17) to 25 ft-lb (33.9 N·m)
(Figure 17-7, Page 17-6)

3. Install the starter/generator belt and adjust belt tension as instructed.
See Belt Tension Adjustment,
Section 12, Page 12-11.
Tighten the starter/generator mounting hardware to 23 ft-lb (31.2 N·m) and the
adjusting hardware to 13 ft-lb (17.6 N·m).
4. Lower vehicle to the height required to position the leaf springs in the mounting shackles. Install the
mounting bolts and lock nuts. Tighten lock nuts to 15 ft-lb (20.3 N·m)
(Figure 17-18, Page 17-13)

5. Position shocks in the shock mounts and install cushions, mounting washers, and nuts. Tighten nuts until
cushions expand to be the same diameter as the mounting washers
(Figure 17-19, Page 17-13)
