To modify the standard name, use the up/down arrow keys to select characters,
and the right/left arrow keys to select the character position. Press the
Enter
key to save the name and advance to the next question.

If only the name is modified, pressing the
Cancel
key will bring up a “Save
Changes?” question. Select 1. No if the change was an error or 2. Yes to save
the change(s) made.
Half-life (Days)
The Half-life (Days) menu item allows you to enter the decay half-life used for a
source from 0.00 to 1.0 x 10

(10 characters maximum). You can select from a
pre-defined or user defined source.
To enter the Half-life:
1.
Press the
Setup
key.
2.
Using the arrow keys, position the cursor “>” to item “7” in the menu, Define
Std Sources, and then press the
Enter
key.
3.
Using the arrow keys, position the cursor “>” to select the desired source to
edit, and then press the
Enter
key.
4.
Using the
Enter
key, advance to the half-life prompt.
5.
Using the numeric keypad, enter the radionuclide half-life in days, using
scientific notation as needed. The format is n.nnE+/-ee. Use the up/down
arrow keys to select the digit, sign, or “E”, and the right/left arrow keys to
select the position. Press
Enter
to advance to the next question.
6.
If only the radionuclide half-life is modified, pressing the
Cancel
key will
bring up a “Save Changes?” question. Select
1. No
if the change was an error
or
2. Yes
to save the change(s) made.
Source Calibration Date
The Calibration date menu item allows you to enter the calibration date for a source
including the month, day, and year. Valid entries are from January 1, 1980 to
December 31, 2079; default date is January 1, 1980.
Note: Dates and date processing are Year 2000 compliant.
