While holding down the Cancel key on the front panel, apply power to the

Series instrument. If the firmware upgrade is significant, the Master Clear
sequence will happen automatically.
The “Master Clear”, “InitProtRAM”, “InitUIDs”, “EraseSpectrum” and
“Power On Self Test Passed” messages should appear sequentially along the
bottom of the
i
Series display.
Otherwise the Power On Options menu described in
Power On Options
on
page 3 will appear. Contact Canberra as to whether a Master Clear or System
Reset is required as part of the firmware upgrade as these options would
require redoing calibrations and/or the gain calibration.
