long nose pliers.
1. Pulling inner sleeve half
5, Circlip
Always use new circlips.
717 and 787 Engines
Secure circlip with its opening located at the bot-
tom of the piston.
1. Circlip opening at 6 o’clock (at bottom)
947 Engine
Secure circlip in piston groove with its bent end in
piston notch as shown.
1. Circlip end in piston notch

CAUTION
Always use new circlips. At installation, take
care not to deform them. Circlips must not
move freely after installation.

Always wear safety glasses when installing
piston circlips.
