Apply Loctite 271 (red) to Allen screw. Connect
BLACK negative starter cable using flat washer,
teeth washer and screw. Torque to screw 10 N•m
(89 lbf•
in ). Apply dielectric grease.
947 ENGINE
1. Torque nut to 6 N•m (53 lbf• in ), apply dielectric grease and install
protection cover
2. Apply Loctite 271 to threads and torque screw to 10 N•m
(89 lbf• in )
3. Apply Loctite 242 to threads and torque screw to 10 N•m
(89 lbf• in )

WARNING
Always connect RED positive cable first then
BLACK negative cable last. Whenever con-
necting the RED positive cable to the starter
motor make sure the battery cables are dis-
connected to prevent electric shock.
