Both of the above
For all of these, it is possible to configure both a warning and a severe threshold. Although
settings will be different from system to system, the following should work in most cases:
When the storage space occupied by the volume crosses the warning threshold, a
Warning
event is recorded in the
event log
. If the Entire File System Warning threshold has been
exceeded, the space bar used to indicate disk usage turns yellow. When the space reaches or
crosses the severe threshold, a
Severe
event is recorded and alerts are generated. If the Entire
File System Severe threshold has been exceeded, the space bar used to indicate disk usage
turns amber.
In the absence of auto-expansion, the growth of the live file system can be contained to prevent
it from crossing the severe threshold. This effectively reserves the remaining space for use by
snapshots.
Note:
To track and control space the number of files in the live file system,
configure quotas for users and groups or create Virtual Volumes.
Monitoring File System Load
Titan’s performance can be measured by how many operations per second (ops/sec) it is
performing. Through the Web UI, a graphic representation of the number of ops/sec it is
performing can be viewed. For details on displaying or downloading these statistics, see
Server
and File System Load (Ops per second)
