To Rename a Storage Pool
The name for a Storage Pool can be changed at any time, and without affecting any clients.
1.
Move to the SMU
Home
page.
2.
From the
Storage Management
heading, click on
Storage Pools
to view a list of all
pools.
3.
From the right-hand column, click on
details
of the pool that needs to be renamed to
view its Storage Pool Details page.
4.
In the
Label
text box, type in a new name for the pool.
5.
Click on
rename
to change the pool’s name.
To Stop File System Expansion for an Entire Storage Pool
Use this procedure to prohibit the automatic expansion of all Silicon File Systems in the
specified Storage Pool. This setting will override any auto-expansion setting on the individual file
systems in the Storage Pool.
This setting only affects auto-expansion. Manual expansion of the file systems in the pool will
continue to be allowed.

Move to the SMU
Home
page.
2.
From the
Storage Management
heading, click on
Storage Pools
to view a list of all
pools.
3.
From the right-hand column, click on
details
to view the Storage Pool Details Page for
the pool.
4.
From the
FS Auto-Expansion
option box, click the
disable auto-expansion
button to
open a confirmation dialog box.
5.
Click
OK
to stop file system expansion for the entire Storage Pool.
To Allow File System Expansion for an Entire Storage Pool
Use this procedure to allow file systems in a Storage Pool to automatically expand. When
expanding, the file system will grow in increments defined by the Storage Pool chunk size. Be
aware that after a file system has expanded, its size cannot be reduced.
Even if the Storage Pool is configured to allow its file systems to automatically expand, the file
systems must also be configured to support automatic expansion. For more information, see "
