Deny Access -
Disables access to a device.
Reassign
– This confirms a selection of an alternative EVS assignment.
Forget Device
– This will remove the selected device from the list. It is only available if the
device has been disconnected from the FC.
Item/Field
Description
All Tape Devices
and Autochangers
Displays the ID, Device Type, Serial Number, Location, and EVS.
Show
Filters the list: Show All, Show Allowed, Show Not Present, Show
Denied, Show Tape Drives and Show Autochangers.
Allow Access
Clicking the Deny Access button will deny access to the selected tape
device. If Access Allowed is No then NDMP will not attempt to use the
corresponding device, and the device will not appear in the Backup >
Devices display.
Note:
NDMP devices must be assigned to an EVS
before
access can be allowed to it.
A request to "Deny Access" will be rejected if an NDMP
client has opened the device. The backup application
configuration should be changed to avoid use of the
device before clicking "Deny Access".
Status
Current status of the selected device.
NDMP Device
Name
This is the name that needs to be entered or selected when configuring
the Storage Management Application. If the device is a tape drive and
details of its location within a tape library need to be supplied, the
Location field in device table can be consulted.
Fibre Channel
Address
The Fibre Channel (FC) Port ID (or WWN) and the LUN. If the tape library
displays the FC port WWN and device LUNs, it is a way of identifying a
specific device.
Version
The device version as returned by the device in response to a SCSI
inquiry command.
Manufacturer
Manufacturer of the device.
Model
Device model.
