without interrupting service to clients. It only involves adding more System Drives to the pool. A
Storage Pool can be extended until its total size has reached 256 TB.
When expanding a new Storage Pool, to attain optimal performance of the new storage, it is
recommended that the Storage Pool being expanded should utilize as many System Drives as
possible.

To Reduce the Size of a Storage Pool

To Deny Access to a Storage Pool
Denying access to a Storage Pool will make all its file systems inaccessible from a client’s point
of view. It can be used to prepare the storage array for physical relocation. The pool and its
contents are not lost, nor deleted, and access to it can be returned when needed.
Note:
Denying access to a Storage Pool also removes the association between
the file systems hosted by the pool and their EVS. Once access to the
Storage Pool is allowed, the file systems must be reassociated with an EVS.
Denying access to a Storage Pool should only be performed during a planned
maintenance window and only at the direction of BlueArc Global Services.
The procedure for denying access to a Storage Pool involves unmounting each Silicon File
System in the pool, and then changing the pool’s access mode. For instructions on unmounting
Silicon File Systems, see "
To Unmount a Silicon File System
