Titan SiliconServer
Data Access and Performance Statistics
Titan provides ways to monitor the impact network clients have on internal resources. In
particular, Titan provides:
•
Server and file system load statistics
•
FS NVRAM usage statistics
Server and File System Load (Ops per second)
In addition to Ethernet and Fibre Channel throughput statistics, Titan’s performance can also
be measured by how many operations per second (ops/sec) it is performing. Through the Web
UI, a graphic representation of the number of ops/sec it is performing can be viewed. Ops/sec
can be viewed at two levels:
•
The total number of operations performed by a specific Titan SiliconServer.
•
The number of operations performed by individual file systems.
The total operations on a server will essentially be an aggregate of the individual ops performed
by all Silicon File Systems hosted by that server.
Understanding the performance profile of servers and individual file systems is especially useful
in environments where more than one SiliconServer is installed, whether as an A/A cluster or in
a server farm. In such installations, EVS or file systems can be relocated to more equally
distribute the load among the available servers.
