Code Resolution
This parameter (available only for TCNM-AD and TCNM-EX), allows to optimize the scanner's performance according to
the specific barcode density.
Selection:
Standard
Optimized reading of low/medium density barcodes.
High
Optimized reading of high density barcodes.
Toggle
In successive scan lines, the software resolution is toggled between the
values Standard and High. The scanner takes advantage of the two settings
at each reading phase when both high and low/ medium resolution barcodes
are used together.
Reading Conditions
This parameter allows selecting various predefined "recipes" (combinations of internal component settings) to optimize
the scanner to read under specific application requirements.
For automatic setup of this parameter, use the SMART-TEACH AutoSetup function described in the product manual.

AD/EX
Standard
Default value. The scanner is optimized to read good print quality barcodes within the
reading range (refer to the reading diagrams in the Installation Manual).
Difficult
The scanner is optimized to improve:
Low/Very Low PCS barcodes
Long distance reading
High skew angle conditions (>30°)
Toggle
In successive scan lines, the Code Reading Condition parameter is toggled between the
Standard and Difficult values. In this way, the scanner takes advantage of the two settings
at each reading phase. This is advisable when different reading conditions can occur.
TCNM-EX Dark
Background
The scanner is optimized to read low contrast barcodes due to dark backgrounds.
Toggle
In successive scan lines, the Code Reading Condition parameter is toggled between the
Standard, and/or Difficult, and/or Dark Background values. In this way, the scanner takes
advantage of all the selected settings at each reading phase. This is advisable when
different reading conditions can occur.
TCNM-SP Standard
Default value. The scanner is optimized to read good/medium print quality barcodes within
the reading range (refer to the reading diagrams in the Installation Manual).
Cartons
The scanner is optimized to read low contrast barcodes also having printing imperfections,
typical of barcodes printed directly on cardboard packaging cartons.
Low
Contrast
The scanner is optimized to read low contrast barcodes.
High Skew
Angles
The scanner is optimized to read good/medium quality barcodes at high skew angle
conditions (>30°).
Beam Shutter
The Beam Shutter turns the laser off.
The Beam Shutter option can be used:
to increase the overall laser diode life when used in high ambient temperature applications (over 35° C);
to reduce power consumption;
to turn off the laser for safety purposes.
