TCNM-AD/EX/SP Family Software Configuration Parameter Guide

Reading System Layout

This group is available only when working in On-Line, and Continuous operating modes.

The Local Device Alternative Network Settings selections and related parameters depend on the Topology Role defined

for the current scanner. In particular:

Local Device Alternative Network Settings

This parameter allows configuring the device according to the desired layout.

Selections:

Alone or ID-NET

the scanner is in a stand-alone configuration connected to a Host or utilizes an

ID-NET network configuration.

Master RS232
(Type A)

this selection is maintained for backward compatibility. The master

configuration varies according to the types of scanners that will be connected

together in the network as Slaves: TCNM-AD/EX/SP families.
To select this option it is necessary to disable the transmission on the Auxiliary
Serial Port and enable it on the Main Serial Port through the corresponding Data

Tx parameter.

Slave RS232
(TypeA)

this selection is maintained for backward compatibility. The slave configuration

varies according to the types of scanners that will be connected together in the

network as Master: TCNM-AD/EX/SP families.

Network Baud Rate (bps)

This parameter is enabled when the Local Device Alternative Network Settings parameter is set to Alone or ID-NET. It

defines the baud rate for the ID-NET network.

NOTE

In order for the Backup & Restore function to work correctly, when changing the ID-NET network

baud rate, all slaves must be set manually to the new baud rate either through GeniusPlus or

through the slave TCNM-ACBB Backup module rotary switches.

Number of Slaves (Type A)

This parameter is enabled when the Local Device Alternative Network Settings parameter is set to Master RS232 (Type

A). It defines the number of slaves to be connected to the master scanner.
