Text Messages (Instant Messaging)

Text Messages (Instant Messaging)

Note:

 You can use the transmission of the display name to send text 

messages during an internal call (see chapter Functions, Uses, 
Concepts > Transmission of the Display Name).

The PBX supports sending and receiving of text messages via SIP (in 
accordance with RFC 3428).

You can use this function with the following end devices:

Auerswald/FONtevo VoIP system phones and standard VoIP phones

The Instant Messaging app is used to send and receive text messages via 
SIP (optional, see the phone manual).

Auerswald IP DECT phones

The COMfortel M-100, M-200, M-210, M-300 und M-310 handsets only 
support the reception of text messages via SIP.

Standard VoIP end devices of other vendors

As precondition to support the text messages via SIP function, the SIP 
convenience package must have been unlocked (optional, see chapter 
Functions, Uses, Concepts > Activation).

Sending and receiving of text messages via SIP depend on the end device 
(see the end device manual).
