Locking Mechanisms

Different clients may operate on the same system concurrently using

different interfaces. To avoid undesired interrupts, the Agilent 81250

features a locking mechanism, allowing each client to gain exclusive

access to the system during critical operations.

The system can either be locked or blocked:

• With a locked system, commands from other clients are returned

with an error message.

• With a blocked system, commands from other clients do not return

until the system has been unlocked and the command has been

executed.
