Retry on Bad Read
: May be enabled if directed by Sensus Technical Services to
improve MXU response in situations where RadioRead success is intermittent. Allows
the VXU to attempt interrogation multiple times prior to signaling the Bad Read message.
Altering this without consent from Technical Services may actually hinder system
performance.
•
Export Readings
: The available selections for this setting are Last and All. If
Last
is
selected, only the last meter reading for any single meter is sent back to the billing
software. This is the most common setting, and will provide the billing software with only
one meter reading (the last one) for any meter. If
All
is selected, all the meter readings for
any given meter are sent back to billing.
All
should not be selected unless you are certain
that more than one reading for a meter is desired by the billing software.
•
User Name
: A User Name can be entered for the specific VXU device. This User Name
will appear on the AutoRead reports and is not currently used for any other purpose.
•
Band
: This setting changes the radio transmit band that the VXU uses for meter
readings. The choices are A, B, and C. A is the US Band, B is the Canadian Band,
and C is the US Alternate Band. You should not change the band setting without
first consulting Sensus Technical Services at 1-800-638-3748, or their Sensus Sales
Representative. Changing the VXU band is a violation of your FCC license and may
cause your system to not operate properly.
•
Channel
: This setting changes the transmit channel that the VXU uses for meter
readings. Consult Sensus Technical Services at 1-800-638-3748 or your Sensus Sales
Representative before changing the transmit channel. Changing the transmit channel
may be a violation of your FCC license and may cause the system to not operate
properly.
•
Utility Code
: Allows you to select your assigned utility code. This value is used when
loading a vehicle route and then applied in AutoVu when the same route is retrieved. The
default value for Utility Code is blank. If you are using a VGB to read FlexNet SmartPoint
modules, you will need to select your assigned utility code before loading your routes.
Vehicle Reading Display Tab
The
Reading Display
tab refers to the display on the Vehicle Read laptop that the Meter
Readers use to read meters. Depending on the settings here, the screen in the AutoVu
program on the laptop will display the multiplier and/or units of measurement information
(if any) and/or change the way the reading appears to the meter reader as the readings
are collected. These settings are only relevant if the billing software passes multiplier or
units of measurement information to AutoRead in the route file, or if these values have been
programmed directly into the register.
