An Unread meter refers to a meter without a reading transaction. Notes, answered
questions, completed work orders, and marks do not count as readings.
Move Unvisited Meters
This function is used to move unvisited meters from one route to another in one step. If
the selected route has been read and the readings processed into AutoRead, the status is
either Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete (Data: Available). It is highly advised
that before performing this function, the route data be backed up by performing the Backup
function. This ensures that you can recover if a mistake is made. When performing this
function, it is also important to be sure that the desired Target or Destination route is either
in a status of No Meters (Data: Not Loaded) or Ready to Load (Data: Not Loaded). If the
desired target route is not in one of these two statuses, AutoRead will not consider the route
to be a viable target route.
To perform this function, simply highlight the desired route of origin, select
Move Unvisited
Meters
from the
Function
box drop-down menu, and click
Execute
. AutoRead will display
a list of available target routes. Select the desired target route, and click
OK
. AutoRead will
move all unvisited meters from the original route to the target route.
An Unvisited meter refers to a meter without a note, mark, answered question, completed
work order, or reading transaction.
Load and Read Process Flow Chart and Time Line
No Meters (Data: Not Loaded)
This is the starting status for processing a route. This status indicates that a route is empty
of any meter data and is ready to accept the new route file's information. The route file
contains the list of meters to be read and is prepared by the billing software. If the route is
not at No Meters (Data: Not Loaded) status, use the Clear function.
Ready To Load (Data: Not Loaded)
After the Import function is executed, the route's status message changes from No Meters
(Data: Not Loaded) to Ready to Load (Data: Not Loaded). This message indicates that the
route information has been imported properly. Route information can be loaded into the
HHD or VXU disk from this status message by executing the Load Data function. This is also
the point where questions can be added to the route and where route exceptions denoted
by an (e) can be checked prior to loading it.
Device Loaded (Data: Loaded)
The Device Loaded (Data: Loaded) status message appears when the route information
has been successfully loaded to the HHD or VXU disk. This message also indicates that the
HHD is ready to begin collecting the meter-reading data or that the VXU disk is ready for
retrieval into the VXU laptop.
Backup Required (Data: Available) Or Complete (Data: Available)
After the meter reading data has been collected by the HHD or onto the VXU disk, the route
can be read into the AutoRead program via the Read Data function. Once executed and
completed successfully, the route status is Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete
(Data: Available). The status is Backup Required (Data: Available) if the Backup Required
box is checked in the
Route-Maintenance-General
tab.
The cycle of processing a route can begin again when you execute the Clear function on
the route. Clearing the route will empty the route and read information from the AutoRead
software database and will return the route back to its original status of No Meters.
