AUTO-NEXT at Startup
: If this setting is set to On, the HHD will advance to the next
meter automatically when a reading is stored. If this control is set to Off, the meter
reader will need to advance the HHD to the next meter manually after entering a reading.
Entering a note will not advance the HHD to the next meter automatically, regardless of
this setting.
•
Beeper Volume Control
: Sets the default volume of the beeper sound on the HHD. (Not
supported on the AR5000 model HHDs.)
•
Key Click Volume Control
: Determines the default key click volume that the HHD
makes when a key is pressed. (Not supported on the AR5000 model HHDs.)
•
Battery Check
: Dictates whether or not the HHD will warn the meter reader of a low
battery condition. (Not supported on the AR5000 model HHDs.)
•
Times to retry when bad reading is received
: May be used if directed by Sensus
Technical Services to improve MXU response in situations where RadioRead success
is intermittent. Allows the HHD to attempt interrogation multiple times prior to signaling
the Bad Read message. Altering this value without consent from Technical Services may
actually hinder system performance.
The AR400X Tab
The
AR400X
tab is provided to make changes to the default configuration of the AR4001
and AR4002 HHDs. There are settings that are specific to these models that do not apply to
the model 5000 HHDs.
•
Backlight on Time
: This controls the default amount of time that the HHD backlight will
remain on when the
Light
key is pressed on the HHD. A shorter time will help conserve
battery power on the HHD if a meter reader forgets to turn the light off manually. The
setting is displayed in seconds.
