The most common cause of this error is when the backup is to be saved on a diskette and
the diskette is NOT in the drive. Please insert the diskette and retry the backup.
Another possibility could be that the file is being saved to a server or network PC, and the
connection to the PC has been lost. Usually, rebooting the PC will re-establish the network
connection to the mapped drives on other PCs. After entering AutoRead, try performing the
Backup function again.
What does "Error Matching Model" mean when I try
to load my HHD?
The error message
Error Matching Model
means that the AutoRead program is not able to
communicate with the HHD because it does not have the correct protocol enabled. If you
see this error, you may be trying to use a loaner HHD that is a RadioRead capable device.
Your AutoRead software must have RadioRead protocol enabled in order to communicate
with a 4002 or 5002 device.
Check the model number on the back of the unit for 4000 series equipment, or in the
4000 and 5000 series HHDs by going to the Configuration menu and selecting
User> ID
>Software Version
. The first four digits of the serial number reflect the device type.
Check the available protocols in the AutoRead software by opening the AutoRead program,
going to the upper left corner and clicking

. Look at the list
box that appears for an Application pertaining to your device model. For example, if you
are trying to use a 4002, check to see if there is an application listed for the 4002 in

. If you only see an application for 4001 in the list, you will not be able to
use the 4002 device.
If the device you are trying to use is a loaner, contact the source of the loaner. This is
probably the Sales Representative or Sensus Metering Systems Technical Services. The
number for Sensus Technical Services is 1-800-638-3748. The supplier of the loaner should
be able to make arrangements to provide the correct model for your protocol.
If the HHD device belongs to your utility, you may have an AutoRead software update that
has not yet been performed. If you have not received any updates from Sensus Metering
Systems for your AutoRead software, and you are using YOUR HHD, contact Sensus
Technical Services.
