be either Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete (Data: Available). After executing
this function, the route status should be back at Device Loaded (Data: Loaded), meaning
that AutoRead will accept another Read Data function. The device does not have to be
reloaded with information for this function to take place. By performing the Re-Execute
function, AutoRead will assume that the HHD or VXU still has meters to be read. This allows
the meter reader to collect more readings with the device. When processing a very large
route that takes days to collect the readings, an extra level of protection can be added by
performing a Read Data, Backup, and Re-Execute function at the end of each day, to copy
the readings performed each day to the PC.
Re-Process
This function can be performed on a route, which is either in a Backup Required (Data:
Available) or Complete (Data: Available) status. This function recreates the readings export
file for billing and regenerates the AutoRead route management reports. After execution,
the route will keep its prior status of Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete (Data:
Available). This function re-processes the data from within the AutoRead database. It does
not communicate with the HHD, or if using Vehicle-RR, it does not read the VXU disk. The
HHD or VXU disk does not need to be in the stand or PC when performing the Re-Process
function.
Export
The Export function prompts AutoRead to send the reading data to a reading file in the
export directory. In order for this function to work properly, the status of the selected route
must be Backup Required (Data Available) or Complete (Data Available). This process is
normally included automatically when a Read Data function is executed, and does not
need to be performed separately. If for some reason the reading file is not in the export
directory after performing a Read Data function, check the error column on the Process
Routes screen for the selected route. Also check the status after performing a Read Data
command. If the status of the route is not Backup Required (Data: Available) or Complete
(Data: Available), the Read Data function was not successful. Refer to Appendix A or
contact Sensus Technical Services at 1-800-638-3748. If the reading file is required again
for any reason, as long as the status of the selected route is either Backup Required (Data
Available) or Complete (Data Available), the Export function can be executed to send the
reading file to the export path.
Report
This function generates the AutoRead route management report package for the selected
route(s). The selected route(s) must be in a status of Backup Required (Data Available)
or Complete (Data Available) for this function to be successful. In most cases, the report
package is generated automatically when the Read Data function is performed. If the
normal AutoRead report package did not print, check to see if there are any errors in the
error column of the Process Routes screen. It is possible that the Read Data function or
Report function did not complete properly. Refer to Appendix A or contact Sensus Technical
Services at 1-800-638-3748. If the AutoRead report package is needed again for any
reason, simply execute the Report function to print the reports again. If you need to print to
a different printer, refer to Appendix A - Frequently Asked Questions.
Restore
This function restores the route and reading data from a backup into the AutoRead
program. Specifically, the Restore function takes the route and reading information from
the routename.rbk file and restores it back to the route it originally came from in AutoRead.
