Attention! The reaction doesn’t cancel recording by sources, started by
other recording or pre-recording functions , or activation emergency
recording by a source.
• Data archiving
Data archiving reaction launches task to archive records of certain type, which
were made by certain sources over a certain period of time and which are stored
on certain volumes, in accordance with archiving function settings. Archiving is
performed by records copying from source volumes to target volume.
Reaction launching leads to forming of
long-term operation
with low priority and
15 days life time on the computer, to which target volume is connected.
System means allow to monitor archiving processes execution and administer
them in the
long-term operations window
(see 4.1.7 section).
You can add this reaction type to system task if you want to activate a certain
archiving function
on occurrence of a certain event.
For correct work of this reaction you should previously add archiving function to
system configuration and set up its parameters on the Recording panel. Notion,
destination, creating and configuring of archiving functions are described in 3.5
chapter.
You can configure reaction properties on the
General tab. Open reaction Properties
dialogue box (see the
steps 1-3
of the algorithm of 3.7.2.8 section).

function
Description
Select a pre-recording function , recording task by sources of which
you want to cancel, from the drop-down list.
Description
Select archiving function , using which you want to archive video/audio
data, in the drop-down list.
Notice, that if «Data archiving» reaction, which forms archiving long-term
operation with the same parameters, as parameters of operations, which are
already exist in the
long-term operations window
, is launched several times
successively, then it doesn’t cause new long-term operation generation.

Archiving
function
Attention! It is strongly recommended to set up «Data archiving» reaction in
the schedule of the computer, to which target volume for archiving is
connected. It is because of the fact, that archiving long-term operation is
formed on the computer, where target volume is, and if in the moment of
reaction activation there is no connection with the computer, then the system
can’t inform you about impossibility of reaction activation. During that, there
will be no attempt to restart reaction, since «Data archiving» reaction is a non-
current one (unlike «Video/audio data recording» reaction).
