To configure user accounts select the
Users
tab on the
Access
panel. When you
start
VideoNet
for the first time, there is only
Administrator
account, which you
have defined during installation process.
3.6.2.1. Adding, removing and configuring users in VideoNet system
Access panel
consists of five parts:
Toolbar
(1),
Users
tab (2),
Groups
tab
(3),
Policy
tab
(4) and
Security
tab
(5).
Users tab
Users
tab contains information about all the
VideoNet
system users. Nobody can
be identified by the system in case of using account, which was not defined on the
Users
tab. Thus, all the system
users
, who are allowed to work with the system,
must be defined on the
Users
tab. Every
User
has its own permissions. These
permissions can be granted to every user separately or to the members of a
separate group (for more details see below).
Groups tab
Groups
tab contains information about all the
VideoNet
system user
groups
. As
well as in the operation system Windows XP, groups in VideoNet system
combine several users with equal rights. It is very convenient to unite users, you
want to assign equal rights to, in one security
group
and to grant necessary rights
to this group as a whole instead of granting them to every user
separately.
Combining users
into
groups
is the most convenient way of supporting security of
the system.
Policy tab
Policy
tab contains list of access rights, which can be assigned to every
user
or
group
in your system. By default all the access rights are granted to the
Administrator
built-in account.
Security tab
Security
tab contains list of security parameters, which can be assigned to every
user
or
group
in your system.
