YSTEM

3.13.1. Configuring system general parameters

To configure system general parameters:

1. Select computer, on which 

VideoNet 

system is installed, parameters of which

you want to configure, in the list of computers.

2. Click 

 button on the configuration page select panel.

• Or select 

View->Page->System 

item in the main menu.

3. 

System 

panel opens.

4.  In  the 

system  name

  edit  box  you  can  specify  the  name,  under  which  the

system will appear in the network. It can be name of the computer, on which

VideoNet

 system is installed and which was selected on the 

step 1 

of this

algorithm. You  can  rename  the  computer. To  do  that  enter  new  computer

name into 

system name

 edit box and click 

Apply 

button on the main toolbar.

The name of this computer will be changed in the list.

The  system  enables  to  configure  general  parameters.  You  can  specify  system
name and version of codec, which will be used by default for compression of video
image  from  all  cameras,  added  into  system  configuration.

Also  you  can  rename  computer  from  the  system  main  menu  (see 

3.8.2.3

section) or using 

Windows 

standard way – by double-click selecting computer

name in the computers list.

5. In the 

Default settings

 group box you can select version of codec, which will

be used by default for compression video image from all cameras, you are

adding into configuration of this computer on the 

Devices

 configuration page

(in more detail methods of compression are described in 

3.1.5.3

 section). To

do that select necessary codec version in the 

Codec by default

 drop-down

list. Subsequently you will be able to change codec version for each camera

in its properties on the 

Devices

 configuration page (see 

3.1.2.6

 section).
