10. Specify component size in Mb/Gb/Tb.
11. If you want to add one more component to a created volume , select the
corresponding check-box on the wizard page and click Next button. The Volume
component page opens. Go through the
steps 10-12
.
12. Completing the Create Volume Wizard page opens.
If you don’t know the path to the component, click button near the edit box.
Save as dialogue box appears. Select folder, to which you want to save the
file-component
, and click OK . The path will be automatically put in the edit box.
9. Specify path to
volume component
and enter
component name
(component-
file extension should be .vnsd).
As it was said above,
volume consists of one or several components . Volume
component is a file, which can be placed in an arbitrary logical (
local
or
remote
) drive.
By default, the system sets the first of added components to be a master-
component . It contains general information about volume parameters.
In case of loosing one of volume components (if it is not a master-component ),
the system will continue working with this volume .
Creating volume from several components enables to combine free disc
space, placed on different logical drives, to one volume . Thus, in case of one
of your
hard discs
failure
,
you will not loose all the information, which is in the
volume , at once.
5. Specify, whether it is necessary to use volume in this configuration . To do
that, select the corresponding check-box. If this check-box is not selected,
the volume you are creating will not be used by the system for information
recording.
6. Specify, whether it is necessary to enable recycle recording for the volume .
To do that, you select the corresponding check-box. If this check-box is not
selected, no
recycle recording
will be performed for the volume you are
creating.
7. Click Next button to continue working with the wizard.
8. Volume component opens.
