Communication And Option Feature Set-Up
In this section, information regarding a number of operating parameters is selected for system
operation. The information concerns;
1. Modbus operation (if used). Steps 1a through 1f.
2. Thermocouple type, Steps 2a through 2f.
3. Allow / disallow set point changes. Step 3a
4. Units of measure (metric or imperial). Step 4a.
5. Use of certain IVT option features. Steps 5a and 5b.
6. Restoring default settings. Step 6a.
7. Serial port information. Steps 7a and 7b.
If you are connecting the IVT to a remote computer or DCS and intend to use Modbus and the
communication protocol, reference the section in this manual titled MODBUS COMMUNICATION
for additional information.
Settings are not saved if the [CLEAR] key is pressed during the key sequence. The key sequence
must be completed in order and in its entirety for changes to be established.
1a) Press [SET] [ENTER]
The display prompts to enter a unique unit number for the IVT oil
mist generator. If only one IVT is connected to a host computer,
simply press the ENTER key again to skip over the Unit Number
as it does not affect Modbus communication. Unique Unit
Numbers should be used if there is more than one IVT
connected to the same host computer. Use the INC and DEC
keys to select a unique unit number (0001-9999) The default unit
number is 1999.
1b) Press [ENTER] The Unit Number is saved to memory. Now the display prompts
to enter a Modbus slave address. If there is more than one IVT
connected to the host computer unique slave addresses must be
used. If it is not as desired, use the INC and DEC keys to set the
Modbus slave address from 001 to 247. The default setting is
001.
1c) Press [ENTER] The Modbus Slave Address is now saved to memory and the
display prompts to select the Modbus Transmission Mode to be
used.
