Warm Ambient Option (Cabinet cooling) for NEC constructions
The Warm Ambient Option (Cabinet cooling) option for the NEC constructed IVT Oil Mist
Generator is recommended when it is installed in geographical locations where the maximum
ambient temperature exceeds 115
°
F (46
°
C). The IVT Oil Mist Generator Cabinet Cooler system
is designed to provide internal cooling protection to the IVT Controller electronic components.
The cabinet cooling system uses a pneumatic operated vortex cold air generator for reducing and
maintaining the operating temperature inside of the console cabinet. The air temperature inside
of the IVT cabinet is monitored and maintained at reduced temperature levels by a mechanical
thermostat that requires no electrical power. The thermostat is factory set and nonadjustable.
Each cooling cycle starts when the internal operating temperature reaches approximately 124º F (
51º C ) and remains on until the temperature in the controller enclosure is reduced to 80º F ( 27º
C ).
The IVT Oil Mist Generator Cabinet Cooling system includes the vortex cold air generator with
integral mechanical thermostat. An integral air pressure regulator / air filter is used for filtering the
air supply and regulating the inlet air pressure to the cold air generator

When the IVT Oil Mist Generator is equipped at the factory with a cabinet cooling system, no
additional user connections or installation is required. The instrument air supply serving the oil
mist generator for producing the oil mist also provides air to the cold air generator. A block valve
is provided for servicing if necessary.
