Mist Outlet Valve Assembly
The oil mist-generating head uses compressed air to produce a small droplet of oil (1-3 micron).
The oil droplets are suspended in the air and are discharged into a distribution-piping network.
The piping system then supplies the oil mist to user machinery for bearing lubrication. A specially
designed outlet-switching valve controls the flow of mist out of the IVT. The switching valve is
pneumatically controlled. As the air supply to either mist head is opened to supply air to its
associated mist-generating head, main or auxiliary, the switching valve automatically closes the
outlet of the unused generator and opens the outlet of the one being used to generate the oil
mist.
The generated oil mist exits the top of the IVT cabinet through a 2” pipe. The mist outlet pipe is
sealed as it exits the top of the IVT cabinet.
Mist Generator Head With Air / Oil Heater
The oil mist generating heads (main and auxiliary) are mounted inside of the mechanical
compartment of the IVT. Each uses oil held in separate reservoirs. Both mist generating heads
are mechanically identical. Each mist head features an inline air heater element for heating and
maintaining the air supply at a controlled temperature. The air heater element is installed through
the top of the mist head body (a block of machined aluminum) and attaches with a ½ NPT thread.
The heater cartridge extends into a second manifold made of machined aluminum rod.
