VP - 4.2 Rack Sensor Adjustment

Purpose: Perform this procedure to adjust Rack Sensor position and sensitivity.

1. Perform Check procedure

“VP - 4.1 Rack Sensor Check” (Page 3-59)

2. Remove covers.

3. Put Sample Loader in Manual Mode.

a. Press and Hold MAN and START.

b. Turn Power ON, hold keys down until BEEPING stops.

4. Rack sensors must be flush with, or recessed one-half (1/2) the thickness of the platen wall.

a. To adjust sensor, loosen rack sensor bracket and move sensor.

5. Adjust sensitivity of Sensor.

a. Set up racks according to Steps 1-5 of

“VP - 4.1 Rack Sensor Check” (Page 3-59)

b. Adjust appropriate potentiometer (pot) on CPU Main Board (

Table 3 - 5, Page-3-64

and

Figure

3-29, Page-3-65

), counterclockwise until ALARM LED turns OFF, then clockwise until

ALARM LED turns ON. (It may be necessary to move sensor to properly adjust pot.)

c. Repeat procedure for each sensor.

d. Using Rack Sensor Check Step 7 (
