CARBURETOR HEATER SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the main fuse, signal fuse, carburetor heater
fuse and ignition fuse.
Refer to “FUSE INSPECTION” in CHAPTER 2.
Check the battery.
Refer to “BATTERY INSPECTION” in CHAPTER 2.
Check the stator coil.
Refer to “CHARGING SYSTEM”.
Check the main switch.
Refer to “IGNITION SYSTEM”.
Check the carburetor heater relay.
Check the carburetor heater.
Check the coolant temperature sensor.
Refer to “SIGNAL SYSTEM”.
Check the load control relay.
Refer to “IGNITION SYSTEM”.
Check the carburetor heater system’s wiring.
Refer to “CIRCUIT DIAGRAM”.
Correct the connection and/or replace the rectifier/
regulator and/or the ignitor unit.
CARBURETOR HEATER DO NOT OPERATE.
OK
FAULTY Replace the main fuse, signal fuse, carburetor
heater fuse and/or ignition fuse.
OK
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
Replace and/or charge the battery.
Refer to “BATTERY INSPECTION” in CHAPTER
2.
OK
OUT OF SPECIFICATION Replace the stator coil and pickup coil assembly.

NO CONTINUITY
Replace the main switch.

NO CONTINUITY Replace the carburetor heater relay.
CORRECT

FAULTY Replace the coolant temperature sensor.

Replace the load control relay.
