7. Verify that the pressure drops below 180 mm Hg by reading the vacuum
gauge attached to the pump assembly.
8. If the instrument does not meet the previously described conditions,
begin troubleshooting beginning at the top of this procedure.
Mass Flow Controller
Replacement
Use the following procedure to replace a mass flow controller (
).
Equipment required:
Wrenches, 7/16 and 9/16
Philips screwdrivers, #1 and #2
Flatblade screwdriver
New mass flow controller
1. Turn instrument OFF, unplug the power cord, and remove the cover.
2. Loosen all four fittings to mass flow controllers.
Equipment Damage
Some internal components can be damaged by small
amounts of static electricity. A properly grounded antistatic wrist strap must
be worn while handling any internal component.
