Automated Cartridge System Library Software 

The StorageTek Automated Cartridge System Library Software (ACSLS) is 
another type of management software that can control the SL8500 library. 

This software is a UNIX-based application for mainframe, AS/400, UNIX, 
Windows, and Linux platforms. 

ACSLS functions as the standard in automated library management software 
for Open Systems environments and efficiently shares library resources with 
just about any application on almost any platform. 

Important: 

ACSLS 7.1 

or higher is required for support (with PTF-809236). 

A TCP/IP connection is needed to connect the server to the library. 

There are no required configuration changes for ACSLS to function. 

To allow for 

dynamic

 slot upgrades (Capacity on Demand), you can purchase 

and install the expansion modules, then upgrade as needed to the maximum 
number of slots for the number of expansion frames installed.
