To Convert Between kW and kVA

The only difference between kW and kVA is the power factor. Once again, the
power factor is an approximation (unless already known). For purposes of our
calculations, we will use a power factor of 0.85.

Note:

The kVA value is always higher than the value for kW.

kW divided by 0.85 = kVA

kVA multiplied by 0.85 = kW

To Find British Thermal Units From Electrical Values

The commonly used method for converting electrical values to British Thermal
Units is:
