5-1-4. Stationary Heads Cleaning

Note

Take care not to damage the surfaces of the stationary heads when cleaning.

Tools

• Cleaning cloth : 3-184-527-01

• Cleaning fluid : 9-919-573-01

Procedures

Clean the tape running surfaces of the FE, CTL and CUE/TC heads in the vertical direction using a

cleaning cloth moistened with cleaning fluid.

If the magnetic powder attached to the head gap portions of the FE, CTL and CUE/TC heads, an error

may occur when the recording or playback. Remove the magnetic powder completely.

After cleaning, be sure to wipe the tape running surfaces of the FE, CTL and CUE/TC heads using a

dry cleaning cloth.
