20. Drum assembly installation

(1) Clean the contact surfaces of the drum

assembly and chassis using a cleaning cloth

moistened with cleaning fluid.

• When holding the drum assembly, be sure

to hold the no video heads portion.

• Take care not to touch the drum assembly

against the stationary heads.

(2) Connect the three connectors (CN1, CN2 and

CN3) to the lower board of the drum.

(3) Put the two positioning pins of the chassis to

the holes of the drum assembly.

(4) Move the drum assembly a little and check that

the drum assembly fit in the positioning pins.

(5) Tighten the three screws.

21. Connection the brush assembly

Connect the connector to the brush assembly

board.

22. Unthread guide plate installation

Attach the unthread guide plate using the two

screws.

23. SE-233 board installation

Attach the SE-233 board using two screws.

24. Cleaning of the heads and the tape

running surface

Cleaning the following areas using a cleaning

cloth moistened with cleaning fluid.

• Video heads (Refer to section 5-1-2)

• Tape running surface of the upper drum (Refer

to section 5-1-2)

• Tape running surface and lead of the lower

drum (Refer to section 5-1-3)

After cleaning, be sure to wipe the relevant areas

using a dry cleaning cloth.

Adjustment after this replacement
