shaft and remove the end cap from the attachment.
■
Push in the button located on the trimmer attachment
shaft. Align the button with the guide recess on the
power head coupler and slide the two shafts together.
■
Rotate the trimmer attachment shaft until the button
locks into the positioning hole.
NOTE:
If the button does not release completely in
the positioning hole, the shafts are not locked into
place. Slightly rotate from side to side until the button
is locked into place.
■
Tighten the knob securely.
REMOVING THE ATTACHMENT FROM THE POWER
HEAD
(See Fig 2c)

Loosen the knob.
■
Push in the button and twist the shafts to remove and
separate the ends.
ATTACHING THE SHOULDER STRAP
(See Fig 2d)

NOTE:
Always use the shoulder strap with your
brushcutter.
Follow these steps to attach the shoulder strap.
■
Connect the latch on the strap to the strap hanger.
■
Adjust the strap to a comfortable position.
NOTE:
To quickly release the product from the shoulder
strap, sharply pull the quick release tab.

Always use the shoulder harness with your
brushcutter.
Follow these steps to attach the shoulder harness.
■
Connect the latch on the harness to the strap hanger.
■
Adjust the harness to a comfortable position.
NOTE:
To quickly release the product from the shoulder
harness, sharply pull the quick release tab.
CONVERTING FROM GRASS TRIMMER TO
BRUSHCUTTER
(See Fig 2e)
When using the ReelEasy™ string head, the blade guard
must be attached with the grass de
fl
ector. When using the
Tri-Arc™ blade, the blade guard must be attached without
the grass de
fl
ector.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
always stop the engine before making any
adjustments such as changing cutting heads.
WARNING
Be certain all knobs and fasteners are fully
tightened before operating the equipment.
Periodically check for tightness during use to
avoid serious injury.
REMOVING THE REELEASY
™
STRING HEAD
■
Stop the engine.
■
Open the ReelEasy™ String Head by depressing the
latches on each side. The contents of the string head
are spring loaded, so keep your other hand over the
string head cover while depressing the latches.
■
Remove the string head cover, bump knob, line, spool,
and spring.
■
Place the combination wrench through the hole in the
upper flange washer and the hole in the gear head.
Using the bump knob to turn the hex bolt clockwise
to remove.
■
Remove the string head housing from the drive
connector.
■
Using a wrench, turn the drive connector clockwise to
remove.
■
Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for later use.
■
Use the combination wrench supplied to loosen guard
screw, then remove grass deflector from the blade
guard.
NOTE:
Store the disassembled parts together for later
use.
INSTALLING THE TRI-ARC™ BLADE
To reduce the risk of injury, keep the blade protector on
the blade at all times. Remove the blade protector only
during cutting operations.
■
Place the upper flange washer over the gear shaft with
the hollow side towards the blade guard.
■
Centre the blade on the upper flange washer and make
sure the blade sits flat. Install the cupped washer with
the raised centre away from the blade and make sure
it sits well into the gear shaft.
■
Install the blade retainer nut until finger tight.
■
Place the combination wrench through the hole in
the upper flange washer and the hole in the gear
head. Using the wrench turn the blade retainer nut
counterclockwise half a turn from finger tight .
