Checking the TCP/IP Protocol
Verify that the TCP/IP protocol is running as follows:
1.
Click [Start], highlight [Settings], and select [Control Panel].
2.
Click [Network and Dial-up Connections], and select [Local Area Connection].
3.
In the [Local Area Connection Properties] window, click [Install]. The [Select Network
Component Type] dialog box appears.
4.
Select [Protocol] and click on [Add].
5.
From the [Select Network Protocol] dialog box choose [TCP/IP Protocol] and click [OK].
6.
Supply the setup disk or CD-ROM when prompted.
7.
Highlight [TCP/IP] in the [Network Protocol] list and click on [Properties]. Set the
following TCP/IP configuration parameters in the [General] tab:
– IP Address
– Subnet Mask
– Default Gateway, if needed
NOTE:
Do not check [Obtain an IP address automatically] when
controlling the network through the ESMPRO Manager.
Be careful that IP addresses and host names in the same network do not
overlap.
8.
Continue by creating an ESMPRO User Group as described later.
