Installing and Configuring Device Drivers
Follow these steps to install and configure the device drivers.
Install PROSet II
PROSet II is a utility that enhances the functionality of the network driver. Utilizing PROSet II
enables the following:
!
Provides detailed adapter information.
!
Provides diagnostic capabilities: loop back test, packet transmission test and so on.
!
Provides support for adapter teaming.
PROSet II is necessary to utilize these features.
Follow the procedure below to install PROSet II.
1.
Insert the EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2.
Click Start menu, point to [Programs], [Accessories] and click [Windows Explorer].
3.
Run "PROSET.MSI" in the following directory.
<CD-ROM Drive
Letter>:\WINNT\W2K\PC62C\HD1\WINDOWS\PROSET2\IA32\PROSET.MSI.
The [Intel(R)PROSetII – InstallShield Wizard] dialog starts.
4.
Choose "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click [Next].
5.
Choose "Typical" and click [Next].
6.
Click [Install].
7.
When the [InstallShield Wizard Completed] window is displayed, click [Finish].
8.
Restart the system.
Network Driver
Specify the details of network drivers.
Two standard network drivers will be installed automatically, but the link speed and duplex mode
need to be specified manually.
1.
Double-Click [Intel(R)PROSet II] on the [Control Panel] window.
The [Intel(R)PROSet II] dialog box appears.
2.
Click [Intel® 82546EB Based Dual Port Network Connection] in the list.
3.
Click [Link Config] and specify the Speed value & Duplex value according to the value
specified for HUB.
4.
Click [Intel® 82546EB Based Dual Port Network Connection #2] in the list.
