Time Clock set to a
time behind the file
system time.

The controller
gets flooded with
network traffic while
attempting to boot.

One of the disk
partitions has
a corrupted file
system.

Other reasons

In the serial console, press the ENTER key
one or more times until the system displays the
password prompt:
Give root password for maintenance
(or press Control-D to continue):

Enter the password for the root user and
press ENTER. If you have entered correct
password, you shall get the following prompt:

after a full manual installation, the default
password is root. Pressing
CTRL + D
