LAYER 2 Mirror Command (MXe III-L Controller)
The L2 mirror command provides the ability to monitor Ethernet traffic on LAN port 1 of
the MXe III-L controller.
You can monitor Ethernet traffic by connecting the Ethernet port of a laptop to LAN port 2
of the MXe III-L controller, and then using the Wireshark program.
Note
:
LAN port 2 of the MXe III-L controller is disabled by default, and is enabled when
mirroring is turned on.
The L2 mirror commands are entered using mcdDebug command. On the Linux shell
enter:
mcdDebug
Enter mcd command:->
For the syntax of the mirror command, enter:
Enter mcd command -> xmirrorHelp
The syntax is:
xmirror "<sniffer_port>"
xmirror 0 (turns off port mirroring)
