Recording Extension Names
The VMS can be configured to announce the extension user’s name to caller when transferring the call to the
extension. To do this, you must
• enable Announce Name on the extension.
• record the extension user’s name as Station Name .
Announce Name can be enabled on all extension types, SLT, DKP, SIP extensions, under the Voice Mail Auto
Attendant parameters of extensions. For instructions see “SLT Extensions” , “DKP Extensions” , “SIP Extensions”
under Basic Settings .
Station Names can be recorded by the System Administrator as well as by the extension users. The instructions
provided here are for the System Administrator only. Instructions for extension users may be found under the topic
“Mailbox Settings” .
Recording Station Names using a Telephone
• Lift the receiver of any SLT extension or DKP/Extended IP Phone connected to the ETERNITY NE.
• Enter SA mode.
• 1072-310-Extension Access Code
Where,
Extension Access Code is the extension number assigned to the SLT, DKP, SIP extension, Department
Group on which you have enabled Announce Name.
• The VMS will prompt you to start recording the Station Name after the beep and press # (hash/pound) sign
to indicate end of message.
• Follow VMS prompt to record your message.
To check the Station Name you recorded, dial:
• 1072-311-Extension Access Code
• The VMS will playback the name you recorded.
As you record the names of each extension, the VMS will create audio files with unique file names, ‘stn001.wav’,
‘stn002.wav’, etc. These files are stored in the
Station_Names sub-folder in the VMSCard configuration folder.
