These buttons control the target markers functionality.
Place Marker
This is the same function as the
Place Marker
option on the shortcut menus.
Place Marker
allows you to create a marker at the current position of the cursor.
One or more markers can be placed in the view to identify specific echoes. Each
marker is shown as a small triangle with or without a short identifying label. It
is positioned based on the two known axes in the view as well as the tilt and
bearing of the current ping.
The marker is stationary. It has a specified range, bearing and depth related
to your own vessel. If the echo moves in the display presentation the marker
will not follow.
Own Ship Marker
This is the same function as
Place Own Ship Marker
on the shortcut menu. The
own ship marker is intended as a tool in a search situation. Place the marker
when your echo sounder confirms that you are passing over a school. Then, if
you should loose the school from view, you will know where to start looking
for it. During a search your ST90 presentation may be cluttered with multiple
markers and echoes. Due to its shape the own ship markers are easy to see
among the other markers.
Note
The marker is stationary. If your vessel moves in the ST90 presentation the
marker will not follow.
Circle Marker
Press
Circle Marker
to place a circular marker in the active view. The circle is
drawn with the same diameter as your purse. By means of the circle you can see
the size of the school relative to your purse.
Tip
The
Fishing Gear
function allows you to define the size of your trawl or purse
seine. This function is opened from the
Setup
menu.
Gear
Press
Gear
to place a gear symbol in the active view. The gear symbol is provided
as a tool to help you plan and shoot the purse seine. The symbol is intended to be
used in a structured sequence that starts when you plan to shoot the purse seine.
