Plane view
Certain presentation modes place the
Plane
and
Horizontal
views together. The
Plane
view presents the echo data in a horizontal sector ("fan"). The sector direction can
be changed in both vertical and horizontal directions.
The horizontal direction is presented with a dotted line in the
Horizontal
view. Two
types of dotted lines are used to distinguish between port and starboard side of the
sector.
You can change the bearing on the
Main
menu. You can also click on the dedicated
dotted bearing line in a
Horizontal
view and drag it.
Inspection view
Certain presentation modes place the
Inspection
and
Horizontal
views together. The
echo presentation in the
Inspection
view resembles the echogram you see on an echo
sounder. The
Inspection
view can be regarded as an "echo sounder" with an adjustable
direction.
You can train and tilt the beam independent of the beams displayed in the other views.
To change the bearing of the
Inspection
view, use the
Bearing
function on the
Main
menu. You can also click on the solid bearing line in the
Horizontal
view and drag it.
Shortcut menu
Right-click in the view to open the shortcut menu. The options on the shortcut menu
are mainly related to markers.
In this context, the phrase
marker
is used to identify a visual symbol placed in the
display presentation. By placing a marker on the echo it is regarded as an
object
that you can act upon. If relevant, you can further classify the object as a
target
.
The phrase
target
is used to identify an echo in the display presentation that you
wish to act upon. The echo may be from a material item, a shallow, reef or rock,
or from fish, fish schools or mammals. You must decide which echoes that shall
be classified as targets, and whether you shall start target tracking.
Tip
Before you can change the settings related to a view, the view must be active. To activate a
view, click in it. The active view is identified with a thicker border.
The
Cosmetics
menu controls which "cosmetic" features that used.
The
Visual Objects
menu controls which graphical elements that are shown in the different
views.
Once an echo has been provided with a marker in the display presentation it is regarded as
an object. The
Objects
menu provides a list of all current objects.
