Port 802.1x Dashboard controls
Control Description
Authentication Mode
Displays the Access Control authorization mode for the port. The
Authorization mode can be one of the following:
•
force-unauth
•
auto
•
force-auth
Authentication Status
Displays the current authorization status of the port, either authorized or
unauthorized.
Controlled Direction
Displays the controlled direction for the port, as follows:
•
both: indicates that control is exerted over both incoming and outgoing
traffic through the controlled port.
•
In: indicates that control is exerted only over incoming traffic through the
controlled port.
Authenticator PAE State
Displays the Authenticator Port Access Entity State. The PAE state can be one
of the following:
•
initialize
•
disconnected
•
connecting
•
authenticating
•
authenticated
•
aborting
•
held
•
forceAuth
Backend Authentication State
Displays the Backend Authentication State. The Backend Authentication state
can be one of the following:
•
request
•
response
•
success
•
fail
•
timeout
•
idle
Reset
Re-initializes the 802.1x access-control parameters for the port. The following
actions take place, depending on the 802.1x port configuration:
•
force unauth: the port is placed in unauthorized state, and traffic is
blocked.
•
auto: the port is placed in unauthorized state, then authentication is
initiated.
•
force auth: the port is placed in authorized state, and authentication is not
required.
Reauthenticate
Re-authenticates the supplicant (client) attached to the port. This command
only applies if the port’s 802.1x mode is configured as
auto
.
