1.2 Function Keys
The nine keys labeled F1-F9 at the top of the keyboard are the function keys. These keys
provide one touch control of commonly used functions. The default settings for the keys are
shown below. Users may reprogram the keys to suit individual needs.
Default function key functions
F1: Displays which alarms have been violated.
F2: Changes position, destination entry method to latitude and longitude.
F3: Changes position, destination entry method to Loran C.
F4: Opens menu for selection of mark entry method.
F5: Opens menu for selection of waypoint entry method.
F6: Displays mark/comment list.
F7: Shows plotter display.
F8: Displays plotter graph (water temperature graph).
F9: With no radar overlay kit, opens initial setting menu for the plotter display. With the radar
overlay kit, alternately selects FUNC1, FUNC2, FUNC3.
For the GP/GD-280, the functions shown on the labels above the function keys are executed
when corresponding function key is pressed. The user may change function key programs as
desired. For further details see page 13-26.
