6.3 Target Proximity Alarm
Chapter 8 explains how to enter a target point mark (red X). Using target point marks you have
entered, your unit can release the audio and visual alarms if your ship moves within a distance
you specify from all target points. A good example of a target point would be a wreck.

6.3.1 Setting the target proximity alarm
To set the target proximity alarm:
1. Press [MENU], [5], [1] to display the Alarm menu, and select page 1.
2. Select Set from the Target Proximity field.
3. Press
[↓]
, enter alarm range (00.001-99.999 nm), and press the [ENT] key. To enter an
alarm range of 0.02 nautical miles, for example, press [0], [0], [0], [2], [0], [ENT].
4. Press the [MENU] key several times to close the menu.
A red dotted circle encloses the target point, the radius of the circle equivalent to target proximity
alarm range. When the boat nears any target mark by the distance set here audio and visual
alarms will be released. You may silence the audio alarm with the [CLR] key.
6.3.2 Canceling the target proximity alarm
You may cancel the target proximity alarm by setting Target Proximity to Off.
